Accessible accommodation and accessible activities
Out of Hawkhill’s high-quality, fully equipped villas, three out of our eight are fully accessible: Villa Taavetti, Villa Maria and Villa Eino. Please scroll down for more information on these accessible cabins.
In addition to accessible accommodation, we also offer both private customers and groups a variety of different kinds of fun and interesting activities, some of which can be tailored to be fully accessible. Our accessible activities include hiking in the nature with a mountain trike as well as adaptive kayaking. For more information, please check out our ‘Activities in the wild’ section.

Accessibility on arrival at Hawkhill
Our company is located in the middle of Finland’s stunning nature. There are many hills and differences in altitude in the nearby environment, which has an impact on moving around using a wheelchair. All our cabins are accessible by a car or a transport service. The routes to enter our three accessible villas have been made extra wide to enable wheelchair access.
We can book an accessible taxi for you from the local taxi company for example from the airport to Hawkhill. Please contact us if you need taxi services.
Accessibility: Villa Taavetti
Villa Taavetti is spaciously furnished, and all the furniture can be moved around as per necessary. The walls and floors of the cabin have been painted with contrast colours for clear visibility. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are 80cm wide. The beds do not have height adjustment.
There is a ramp in front of the building for accessible entrance, leading to the side door. The width of the entrance doorway is 74cm. The threshold is 3cm in height, however it is equipped with a threshold ramp.
In front of the villa, there is a designated spot for a fireplace. Through the parking spaces, there is an accessible route leading to it, with sand surface. Those wishing to visit the beach can use the accessible route from the fireplace through a plank bridge. There is no accessible entry to the cottage dock.
Villa Taavetti’s bathroom is spacious and suitable for persons using aids. There is no threshold to enter the bathroom. The width of the doorway is 81cm. A shower seat is available upon request. Our range of shower seats include a model with handrails and a back rest.
The sauna is not very spacious and not accessible with a wheelchair or similar. The width of the sauna’s doorway is 79cm. There are handrails in the sauna to aid climbing up to the benches using the stairs.
Villa Taavetti’s restroom is quite narrow. Inside the restroom, there is 81cm of free space. There is no additional space on the side of the toilet seat. On the door of the room, there is a horizontal string that can be pulled.
Accessibility: Villa Maria
Villa Maria is spaciously furnished, and all the furniture can be moved around as per necessary. The walls and floors of the cabin have been painted with contrast colours for clear visibility. The bedrooms are spacious, and the beds are 80cm wide. The beds do not have height adjustment.
There is a ramp in front of the building for accessible entrance, leading to the front door. The width of the route is 81cm. The width of the entrance at the door is 83cm. The threshold is quite high, however it has been equipped with fairly steep threshold ramps.
The bathroom is spacious and suitable for persons using aids. There is no threshold to enter the bathroom. The width of the doorway is 81cm. A shower seat is available upon request. Our range of shower seats include a model with handrails and back rest.
Villa Maria’s sauna is not very spacious and not accessible with a wheelchair or similar. The width of the sauna’s doorway is 70cm. There are handrails in the sauna to aid climbing up to the benches using the stairs.
The restroom is narrow and there is no space beside the toilet seat to fit a wheelchair in. On the door of the room, there is a horizontal string that can be pulled.
The access to the terrace has been equipped with fairly steep threshold ramps. There is no accessible route to the back yard, however there is an accessible route to the back yard through the front door on the other side of the villa. There is no accessible route to the beach of the barbecue shelter. There is a charcoal grill on the back yard.

Accessibility: Villa Eino
Villa Eino is spaciously furnished, and all the furniture can be moved around as per necessary. There are 5.5cm thresholds by the bedroom entrances, and the width of the doorways are 79cm. The bedrooms are spacious, and the beds are 80cm wide. The beds do not have height adjustment.
The accessible entrance to Villa Eino is through a ramp by the side of the building leading to the balcony. The width of the route is 81cm. The width of the entrance at the door is 76 cm. The threshold is quite high, however it has been equipped with fairly steep threshold ramps.
The bathroom is spacious and suitable for persons using aids. The width of the doorway is 69 cm. A shower seat is available upon request. Our range of shower seats include a model with handrails and back rest. There is a 5cm threshold in the washing room, and it is not highlighted by contrast colours.
The sauna is not very spacious and not accessible with a wheelchair or similar. The width of the sauna’s doorway is 69 cm.
The restroom is narrow. The width of the restroom’s doorway is 59cm. There is 57cm free space inside the restroom. There is no additional space on the side of the toilet seat.
