Are you looking for a sauna experience in Nuuksio National Park? Hawkhill has eight rental cottages and villas, each of which has its own wonderful and unique sauna. Hawkhill Cottage Resort is located on the shore of a tranquil forest lake in the embrace of Nuuksio National Park. Step out of the sauna onto a comfortable terrace with a view across the lake. Enjoy your own private strip of lakeshore, complete with a jetty where you can dive into the cool waters of the lake. If you’re visiting during the winter and staying at Villa Taavetti, Maria or Juhani, you can even go ice swimming.

Nuuksio National Park and the warm embrace of eight unique saunas

When we design a cottage, one of the most important considerations is the sauna, and we put a great deal of effort into making sure it’s perfect. Depending on the villa, our saunas can fit between three and eight people at a time. The sauna benches are spacious, all the better for enjoying the relaxing, soft heat.

Each of our eight saunas is unique – an experience all its own. With its wood-fired stove, the sauna of Villa Armas has the feel of a traditional Finnish cottage sauna, whereas Villa Juhani’s stylish and spacious electric-heated log sauna was built with a more modern eye. What style of sauna do you prefer?

Step out of the sauna and dive into the cool, clean waters of the lake

All of Hawkhill’s lakeshore cottages and villas have their own pristine strip of shore, complete with a private jetty. The waters of the lake are clean and refreshing, even on the hottest of summer days.

In the winter, nothing completes the sauna experience quite like swimming in the lake’s icy waters

Our log villas Taavetti, Maria and Juhani have a hole in the ice at the end of their jetties throughout the winter months. Dipping into the freezing water washes away your everyday worries and improves circulation and tissue metabolism. Returning to the warmth of the sauna after a freezing swim is a feeling like no other. Ice swimming also has proven health benefits.
